 The Wheatsheaf Inn
is located
opposite a nature reserve, on the outskirts of the rural village of Cuckfield, just a mile away from Hayward's Heath town. The building dates
back to 1890 and, although a traditional country inn from the outside, inside
tradition meets modern with a contemporary, extremely stylish, family
friendly feel - full of character with finishing touches which offer a bit
more than your average pub. In the bar, luxury leather seating with plumped
up cushions, invite you to relax, with light flowing through the building
during the day time, and candlelit evenings offering an air of romance.
The Pool Room is no longer the dingy room it was, but is now a swish room with
an open fire, drapes, a full sized ‘luxury’ pool table and a 52” screen to
watch Sport. The biggest project of all was the Inn Pub Garden which has also
been completely revamped. It is now a beautiful welcoming, enclosed garden
where you can enjoy a drink or dine al fresco, with mellow sounds piped
through to you. There is an open BBQ area in the summertime with a bouncy castle in a fenced off
part which is popular with our younger visitors. At night,
there is a Mediterranean feel with a pleasant glow and external heaters. We
also pride ourselves on the gastro pub restaurant offering fine dining in a
relaxed almost nautical setting. We have already obtained our first award,
having been nominated into the Good Food Guide for Great Britain. We strive
to offer the best in everything from fresh fish to tender meat and pasta
dishes prepared and served by a talented team! Fresh fish is brought in from
Network Seafoods in Newhaven. We can also offer the ideal place to stay if you are
visiting the area. Contemporarily styled accommodation offers you a
