Peacock pub, Forhill

Dating back to 1828 The Peacock was originally a coaching inn situated on Icknield Street which itself was built in 49AD and is said to be the oldest roman road into London. Literally out in the sticks we are hard to find. The pub is close to Kings Norton Golf Club and on the border of Birmingham and Worcester. Attracting mainly diners we are well known both in the surrounding area and further afield. This pub has not lost its traditional British pub appearance, still retaining lots of character with original oak beams, stone floors and log fires which create a cosy, snug atmosphere. More open plan than many Chef & Brewer pubs we have around 100 covers in the restaurant. There is also a locals bar and another bar which mainly caters for diners. The food can be chosen from a main menu or unique Specials from the chalk boards which allow our Chefs to show their flair! You will be served meals which have been prepared from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order. We even have candles lit on the tables each night and full table service during the evening and on Sundays. To complement your meal there is an extensive choice of quality wines or real ales if preferred. Quite busy at both lunch and in the evening our friendly team is always on hand to give you great service. As we are surrounded by fields all you can see from our garden is countryside and a cottage around the corner. The building is said to be haunted but don't let that put you off, you are bound to have a superb time.
