 The Greyhound,
located in the heart of Tong Village is a beautifully preserved
Grade II listed building that dates date back to the 16th Century.
Tong Village forms part of a conservation
area, which was originally assigned in the 1970's. The Village
predates the Norman Conquest and is steeped in history, holding the seat
of Tong Manor between the thirteenth and mid-twentieth centuries.
The pub is next to the cricket pitch where
games are played every week in the season. Inside there are old beamed
ceilings and a fine collection of antique Toby jugs which helps to
create a charming and very welcoming atmosphere. Serving a wide
range of homemade dishes, all cooked to order using locally sourced
ingredients. Paul & Susan welcome customers new and old to
beautiful Greyhound. |
