The
Blue Bell
Inn was
originally a Coaching Inn, situated on the Great North Road, (The old A1),
in the small village of Wentbridge and dates back to before the sixteenth
century. The Inn, as it is now, was almost totally rebuilt in 1974
using all the original stone and the interior was fitted out with a
mixture of Mouseman furniture, plus pews and screens from the local church
and cathedral. Good
quality pub food is served throughout the pub from an extensive menu and
Specials board. Along with the main courses this includes a
selection of hot and cold sandwiches and vegetarian
dishes. Whilst at the bar you'll find real ales, a selection of lagers and red &
white wines from around the world. All in all there is something for
everyone from the discerning drinker to the heartiest of appetites.
We also have a function room available for your parties or gatherings. The area around Wentbridge is dotted with nature trails, woodland walks,
crags and also the River Went from which the name of
the village is derived. Walkers are welcome to leave
their cars in our car park. The friendly team
await your visit. |
