WHAT'S NEW & FORTHCOMING

In Summer 2011 we introduced an exciting new Buffet to our food offering. As well as the extensive main menu served every day we also have an evening fresh & reasonably priced buffet available to all. There are also themed buffet nights throughout the week. The Wessington in Castletown, an estate of Sunderland, is just 100 yards from the A19. Being in quite a residential area but with surrounding industry we attract a good mix of clientele. We are only two miles from Sunderland Football Stadium, the Stadium of Light, making us a popular venue when matches are being played. We also show Sky Sports News on the Plasma Screen in the bar to keep everyone up to date. Other nearby attractions include the Empire Theatre in Sunderland and the new National Swimming Centre next to the Football Stadium. Beamish is also a fantastic day out which takes you back in time for the children to experience what it was like in years gone by. Wessington is a large pub with dining for 270 people. During the summer months we have al fresco dining available on the patio overlooking the beer garden. The pub has a decor of bright, welcoming colours and within the restaurant there is a quieter adult area away from the youngsters. Quality Brewers Fayre food is served at a reasonable price from an extensive menu and the children's menu has appetizing choices for our younger visitors. Our bar and restaurant staff are an established team so you are sure of good service. We hope to see you soon.
