Sgt Peppers PhotoFormerly known as The Whistle Stop, Sgt Peppers opened it’s doors in February 1988 after being refurbished and named after the famous Beatles album.  Famous locally for it’s warm welcome and programme of entertainment, the pub is located in Vine Lane just off Northumberland Street, near the Haymarket Metro Station.  This is one of the most visited bars in Newcastle city centre, with everyone from 18 - 80 years coming through our doors.  Jim, the manager, has over 35 years experience from owning Big Ben’s Bar in Benidorm, where he made a name for himself, right up to taking over the Whistle Stop and re-naming it Sgt Peppers.  Nightly entertainment goes from a karaoke on a Monday to fantastic live music and popular discos at the weekend.  Because of our location, we have always been popular on match days with Toon fans, who make us their regular pre-match bar.  Homemade lunches and snacks are served six days a week, with a selection of dishes daily, cooked to order using fresh ingredients.  For a city centre bar with a great atmosphere and reputation, come and see the crew at Sgt Peppers.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
