Jolly Bowman PhotoThe Jolly Bowman is located some way out of Wallsend close to the coast road near Silverlink Retail Park.  The pub, built in 1986, was extensively refurbished in July 2003.  Today this John Barras style venue is open plan with a raised floor and a pool area to one end, which can be avoided if you want to!  Outside there is a fully paved area with canopies and heaters for chilly summer evenings.  This good locals pub attracts people from nearby communities, students from the college across the road, business workers and families.  It is quite a sizeable food house with meals chosen from a main menu and specials board, our Sunday roast being a particular favourite.  Throughout the bar Sport is shown on the three TVs and a plasma screen.  Other entertainment includes pool, two football teams and a couple of weekly quiz nights.  This is a friendly pub which really caters for the needs of all in the vicinity.  Come along soon for a bite to eat, a quality drink from the bar or to have a game of pool with friends.  You will be sure of a good time at the Jolly Bowman.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
