 The Fountain was built as a pub in 1938 with the unusual feature
of a Chinese style, green tiled roof. Fully refurbished to a high standard
in September 2007, we are a stylish venue with neutral colour scheme and
big print wallpaper to give a homely feel. You are welcome to come
along and just enjoy a cup of fresh coffee and maybe take advantage of
the free wireless internet provided.
For dining, the fantastic
Two for One menu offers a varied range of dishes, with most at Two for
One prices. We attract all ages and being close to local schools and a
college, many teachers and local regulars enjoy our hospitality, the staff and customers
making this the best pub in the area! There is a really nice atmosphere,
trouble free, female friendly and no swearing is allowed. A genuinely good
place to be. Sport can be watched from any part of the bar and we even
have a coach leaving here to support Sunderland every weekend.
There are also community led pool and darts teams.
