Of the eight pubs on and around Tynemouth’s Front Street, Fitzpatrick’s stands out for all the right reasons. Its changing selection of hand-pulled ales make it the only one to earn a CAMRA listing year after year. The welcoming and comfortable wood-panelled interior is in two parts: a spacious area around the bar and what can best be described as a large snug by the stained glass bay window, a favourite gathering place for locals and local societies.
