 From the gaslight style lamps on the elegant Grey Street entrance to the
lavish cut glass, vast array of mirrors and art-Nouveau sculptures, this
flagship pub evokes the drinking palaces of the turn of the (last) Century. On
several levels, Fitzgeralds broadens out into the ornate space around the long bar where
you'll be well served from a selection of good cask ales.
The suits at lunch time tell you this is a busy business venue with the
accompaniment of good food. In the evening it stays smart, but imparts the
feeling of a great night out, either up at the Theatre Royal or down at the
Quayside between which Fitzgerald's is strategically poised. (Monument Metro is
two minutes away). If you choose to stay put, there's a lively but safe social
scene at Fitzgerald's with a sense of theatre - the place to see and be seen.
