The Bay Horse is located on Front Street in Whickam, a suburb of
Newcastle. This is an old building to the traditional John Barras
style of decor, attracting a very mixed crowd of all ages. During
the day office workers, teachers and people just passing call in for their
lunchtime break to have a meal or drink with colleagues. Many also
come before going home
at the end of the day for their tea. The open plan design allows all
matches to be seen from anywhere in the pub on the four TVs and two plasma
screens. The pool table and darts board are to one side for the more
active amongst you! At weekends the atmosphere becomes more upbeat
as the Bay Horse is part of the local circuit and is 'the' pub where everyone meets before heading into town or to a club. There is a
sizeable function room with its own bar where we can hold private parties
of up to 100 people. Come along soon to this trouble free relaxed
community pub. Jeanette and her helpful team will give you a very warm
welcome.
