A warm welcome awaits you at
the all new Two For One Aunt Sally! Since changing from a Mighty Nice
pub we still serve superb food but now at an even better price. The
Two for One deal lets you simply order two adult main meals and get the
cheapest one free. You can complement your meal with a glass or
bottle of wine and finish with a tea and coffee. We also serve an
excellent range of drinks from the bar. The recently refurbished bar
area now boats new leather sofas alongside high bar tables and stools. The Aunt
Sally is well located within the
city confines, close to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. It is set in its own
grounds of eleven acres so, when having a quiet drink or meal in the gardens, the mad
rush of the city seems miles away. We have numerous facilities
including disabled access, a children's certificate. Our very friendly staff and regulars look forward to see you
soon!
Known as Lynwood House, the property was
owned for some time by a gentleman involved in the Sheffield Steel Industry,
and the foundations and cellars were heavily fortified by massive steel
constructions, (which can still be seen below ground level), to enable its
occupants to survive a bomb attack during wartime. The name Aunt Sally, goes hand in hand with our own Aunt Sally of
Sheffield, who used to be a Tiller Girl many years ago. Aunt Sally herself
has celebrated her 85th Birthday, and still does a
lot of good work raising money for charity. She also assists budding actors and
actresses to fulfil their
dreams on stage. Her own life has also been portrayed on BBC Television's 'This Is Your
Life'.
