Our mouth-watering new Autumn Winter menu offers a range of your favourite Chef & Brewer dishes. We also have a great selection of new dishes - so whether it's a platter to share with friends, a delicious starter or a classic main course, we have something to suit everyone! Try our new range of delicious platters, including our impressive Chef & Brewer platter or perhaps choose one of the Chef & Brewer favourites, including the Winter Pie Platter and scallops and black pudding.  The White Horse is set in the centre of Shere, a very pretty old village near Guildford. This is a former smugglers pub built in 1425 and having its own ghost. Timbers from Nelson's ship, Victory, form the beams in the restaurant and this is the original Chef & Brewer venue. We are a popular film location and have seen many famous faces such as Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Renee Zelweigger, et al. Today the pub is very cosy with a relaxed atmosphere and attracts clientele from quite a distance. Walkers, cyclists and tourists come to explore this pretty part of the country and this is the natural place to have a meal or a refreshing drink. There are 120 covers throughout and al fresco dining in the garden during the summer. Like all Chef & Brewer pubs we employ high quality Chefs who have superb kitchen facilities. The food can be chosen from a main menu or unique Specials from the chalk boards which allow our Chefs to show their flair! You will be served meals which have been prepared from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order. To complement your meal there is an extensive choice of quality wines or a good selection of real ales served to perfection, if preferred.
