The Swan
reopened in February 2008 following a refurbishment. It's situated in the small town of Walton on Thames
and is a large,
classical English pub with traditional features such as low, uneven ceilings
and two open fireplaces. Inside is stylish with warm, welcoming decor
with separate public, main and snug bars plus a family room, foyer and
lobby. There are cosy corners, leathers sofa's and feature wine wall which
makes it very inviting. Outside the huge beer
garden has been re-worked with a new seating area, heaters and lighting
which seats 300 to 400 people and leads nicely down to the river.
Everyone round here seems to own or live on a boat! Food is served
from a main menu, daily Specials board and sandwich menu. Everything
is freshly prepared and cooked to order with the exception of the Young's
steak & ale pies which are delivered in fresh. During the summer
months you can enjoy your meal al fresco, weather permitting and we also
have barbecues. There is an excellent range of wines to complement
your food or several real ales if preferred. Once home to Jerome Kern
the famed songwriter this trouble free, family
friendly pub has a happy atmosphere and attracts people of all ages from
young families to the elderly. Next time you are in this neck of the
woods be sure to call in and enjoy this sociable pub.
