The Dolphin is a 17th
Century Inn located in Betchworth. We are just
a twenty minute drive from Gatwick and thirty
minutes from London Victoria. Our closest
railway stations are: Betchworth, Dorking, Redhill
and Reigate. The pub is within the Surrey Area
of Outstanding Natural Beauty - one of thirty nine
such designated areas in the United Kingdom.
With England's largest vineyard just up the road
from us we are surrounded by walking trails, both
flat and hilly, with extensive views of the North
Downs, River Mole and beautiful Surrey countryside.
Opposite The Dolphin lies a 16th Century forge which
is still working and St Michaela's Church which
featured as the first church in the hit film 'Four
Weddings and a Funeral'. The pub has a huge
clientele of regular locals and we are very popular
with walkers. Inside there are stone floors, inglenook fireplaces
and gaslights making this is an attractive venue to
enjoy the real ales and superb, freshly prepared
food which is cooked from scratch! One of our chef's is
classically French trained with our other highly
trained chef previously being a butcher. There
are no TV's, music or machines here - just the
freedom to partake of good conversation. The Dolphin is
not just a great pub serving exceptional food but
lies in a beautiful area with lots to do. We
even welcome children and dogs so why not bring the
whole family to enjoy this rather special venue.
