A traditional style Tudor building built in the 16th
Century, The
Bell Hotel was originally a Coaching Inn and being a listed
building has retained it's traditional features. Ideally located we
are situated in the small town of Clare close to the antique area,
approximately 40 minutes from Cambridge, Ipswich, Stanstead and Colchester,
or 50 minutes from Harwich, with easy access to the M11. David and
his helpful, friendly staff will be delighted to welcome you to the Bell
Hotel where you can have an enjoyable stay in one of our recently
refurbished bedrooms or special 4 poster suite (popular with anniversary /
wedding couples). You may just come to dine in our 'Tudor'
restaurant where we serve delicious homemade, A La Carte meals, or try our
Garden Room / Conservatory menu, again with homemade food and fresh
vegetables. Our steak and ale pie is not to be missed and contains
beer locally brewed in Clare. We are
happy to serve sandwiches and cream teas when our restaurant is closed.
Tea and coffee is available from an extensive range. A main
feature is that we are licensed for civil weddings which means you can
make your day extra special by having your ceremony, reception and stay all
in one superb location. So whatever your reason for visiting us, we
always offer friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere.
