The
Westgate is conveniently located close to the Millennium
Stadium which is a few minutes away. Cardiff castle, opposite Sophia Gardens
and Glamorgan County Cricket Ground are also close by. The pub itself dates back to
the 1800’s. It is large and open plan with a
pool room off one end of the horseshoe bar where you can practice your
technique in pool and darts! We are a popular meeting place for people
heading off into town for a night out. This is a proper pub rather than
a trendy wine
bar with a good pub atmosphere. Popular for Sport, we show all major sporting events
such as the
FA Cup with the screens well positioned for good viewing. Good food is served throughout day
with also alfresco dining during summer months from
an extensive main menu
and homemade specials board which offers a range of seasonal dishes.
Being part of local Pub Watch scheme we are trouble free and female friendly
so come and try this friendly pub when you are next in the area.
