 The
Welcome
to Gower is a good quality pub in the Gowerton area of Swansea,
six miles from
City Centre. This pub offers the best of both worlds as although
we are a town based pub, the entrance to Gower is only three miles away offering open countryside and miles of beaches!
The building dates back to 1857 and Colin, the current tenant, has worked hard to build a
community spirit and a very welcoming family run pub. Inside there is
a large space with the actual bar having been aptly named ‘Stoker’s Bar’ after a local rugby
legend. We are keen to show sports so at one end of the pub there is
comfy seating with leather sofas and a big screen and to the other end is a 37 inch
plasma! Decorated in
browns, terracotta & beige along with mahogany wood this pub has a traditional
feel with lots of photo’s on show which go back years. The photos
bring back memories to some of our customers and are a real talking
point. As well as the many regulars who
frequent the pub we also are an ideal destination for a drink or meal for
tourists from the local caravan park and passers by who are heading for the
beach or countryside. We offer a
wide selection of dishes on our main menu as well as a takeaway service. Families are very welcome and given we have a children’s
menu we caters for everyone. We source our fruit & vegetables locally
wherever possible and our meat is very fresh, sourced a short
distance away from the pub. Our regularly changing Specials are all homemade
as well as our chips. The weekly
Charity quiz is very well attended and over the years has raised a lot of
money for the charity Cancer UK. We also have regular events which can be
anything from a Hog Roast to a table top sale. Colin and his team look
