Hanbury PhotoThe Hanbury is an olde worlde pub which is the oldest building in Caerleon and, like the town itself, is steeped in History.  A tower on the side of the building dates back to 1066 and Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote a poem here in 1856.  Inside, old beams enhance the building's traditional look.  There are two bars in the open plan area and a lounge area with flat screen TV to which you can dine anywhere.  The impressive exterior can be noticed as you travel across the bridge with its large picturesque seating area of 50 seats which overlooks the River Usk.  We hold Cask Marque accreditation which means that we are not only a popular venue for the quality food we serve but also for our real ales which have to be tasted...!  Come and enjoy a traditional Welsh dish from our seasonal menu and complement it with a fine wine or a choice beer.  You will be sure to return to this friendly, relaxed pub again and again.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
