Goat Major PhotoThe Goat Major is situated next to Cardiff Castle, near the city centre.  This small pub takes its name from the mascot of the Royal Regiment of Wales.  It is arguably the only traditional pub with a Welsh feel left in Cardiff.  We attract a really wide range of clientele of all ages, including families and visitors to the Castle.  Traditional pub food is served from a main menu and has a Welsh twist.  Having an entry in the CAMRA Guide and the Cask Marque accreditation, we are very popular for the real ales we serve.  This trouble free, female friendly venue is a marvellous place to come and relax away from the madding crowds of the City.  If you are looking for a real taste of Wales, come and see us soon.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
