Duke of Wellington PhotoThe Duke of Wellington is the oldest building in the original market town of Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan.  It lies on the old A48 between Cardiff and Bridgend which are 7 and 6 miles away respectively. Built in the 15th Century this award winning pub has retained a traditional feel with roaring open fires and attractive fine furnishings. There is a public bar, lounge bar and conservatory along with two function rooms which are used for a variety of occasions including civil weddings.  It is a real plus to be able to have your wedding and reception under one roof with us to take care of arrangements.  Outside the enclosed courtyard beer garden seats 80 people and during the summer meals can be enjoyed al fresco.  Excellent food is served from a varied main menu and Specials board.  All is freshly prepared and cooked to order.  A popular favourite is minted Welsh lamb chops!  With an impressive selection of wines and real ales to choose from, your meal will be one to remember.  As we have Cask Marque accreditation, your ale will be served to the highest standard.  This is a fantastic all round pub for local regulars coming in to watch a major match over a pint of the best and people from further afield looking for a quality meal.  The Landlord was voted 'Brains Pub Manager of the Year 2001 / 2002. Make sure you come and sample this rather special pub in the near future.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
