Darran PhotoThe Darran is located on the outskirts of a thriving community in the up and coming tourism area of Risca between Cardiff and Newport.  With easy access from Junction 28 of the M4 we are near the scenic forest of Twmbalywm in the foothills of the Cambrian mountains among canal and hill walks with the finest mountain biking tracks of Cwmcam.  Following the major refurbishment in 2004, The Darran is now seen as the premier local of the area, a superb dining venue for the whole family and a place to chill out after a hard days work.  Furnished to a high standard the inside is on two levels with a mezzanine dining area.  Retaining a lot of its old charm with flagstone and wooden flooring, open fireplaces, exposed stone wall and log stacks, the pastel decor creates a calm, relaxed environment.  We have great pride in our high standards of service, food and presentation.  The menu gives an excellent range of freshly cooked dishes along with between 3 and 5 daily specials.  Complement your meal with a choice wine or real ale and you will be sure to make a return visit.  We look forward to seeing you soon.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
