We had a major refurbishment in June 2007. Now a contemporary carvery, with a brand new modern look and a terrific new carvery and menu. ALL our food is now sourced in Britain.

The Cedar Tree is located on the A469 main road toward Ystrad Mynach, on a roundabout so you can’t miss us.  A former farmhouse smallholding, outside gives the impression of an olde world pub.  However, following a major refurbishment which was completed in June 2007, our look inside is now contemporary with a classy feel.  Neutral colours adorn the walls, while flooring is a mixture of slate, tiles, wood and carpeting.  Our feature is an aperture which has been carefully stacked with logs.  There is still a bar area with comfortable seating, which is ideal for sitting with a coffee and maybe doing some work or your laptop, or just relaxing alone or with friends.  This is a popular area with hotel guests.  We are much more geared towards dining now with a much extended dining area, the main feature of which is the carvery.  Consisting now of five individual carvery pods each inlaid with traditional Welsh slate, the extensive vegetable station in the shape of a large horseshoe, is remote to the carvery roast meat section.  Along with the carvery, we offer a main menu all day with a superb selection of dishes available, also a bistro selection and chef's Specials choices.  All our food from the menu and carvery, is freshly cooked using nothing but British sourced produce, from the meat to the vegetables.  Being next to a Premier Inn we are an ideal base for visitors to the area, so come along soon and try the quality food and drink at this welcoming venue.
