Horseshoe PhotoThe Horseshoe is located on a main road in the centre of Downend, about five miles from Bristol.  This fantastic old pub had a refit in September 2004 when the outside was painted black and white.  Inside there is a bar and separate lounge.  The bar houses the big screen, TV, pool table and darts board whereas the lounge is quieter with the big screen and TV in there only switched on for major England  matches.  This is a good community locals pub which also attracts business people and passers by who spend their lunch breaks with us having a meal or a drink with colleagues.  We have live bands playing here twice a week which are very popular and have quite a following.  Many people who come for those don't come at any other time.  Next time you're passing, call in and test out this trouble free, female friendly venue.  You will be given a warm welcome.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
