Highbury Vaults pub Bristol

Highbury Vaults is located close to Bristol University and the hospital, attracting a mixture of clientele from students, lecturers and academics to doctors and nurses.  Dating back to the early 1800’s, this pub was where prisoners would have their last meal before being taken away to be hung!  Today it is still very traditional inside, all wood panelled with dark wood and dim lighting with the whole bar front being original.  It is a long room with lots of little nook and crannies.  A great real ale drinkers pub, this is somewhere you can enjoy a good pint and a chat, with no loud TVs or music.  One of the few traditional pubs left.  We offer homemade food, with choices such as steak pies and our very popular homemade chilli con carne.  Everyone gets involved in the annual street party in August, when the road is closed off and everyone has a great time.  This is a real ale pub that does good food.  Come and try us out soon.
