The George Hotel is located in the centre of Highbridge on
the edge of the main A38 Bridgewater to Weston Super Mare road, just a mile
and a half from Burnham-on-Sea. Built in the mid 1700's, this
impressive three storey building offers a well established family style,
traditional pub with a fantastic atmosphere. Michael, the publican,
and his great team, many who of whom have been here since the mid 1990's, give a warm
welcome to all. Inside there is a beamed bar, a traditional lounge and
a small separate restaurant area. There are also
five letting rooms and a Function room which can cater for 70
people. Our mixed clientele range from local regulars to visitors
and tourists. Many come to enjoy the fine range of real ales and local
ciders. Michael travels personally to the Princetown Brewery to collect the ale
which stands as testimony to its quality. We
are happy to cater for breakfast requested in
advance. If you are planning to visit the West Country, why not stop
off in Highbridge and receive the traditional Somerset welcome which
awaits you at the George. |
