The Crown is to be found on the A4 between Bath and
Bristol in the large village / small town of Saltford. Close to
the golf club, the building is one of the oldest in the area with the
first licensee registered here back in 1765! Having had a
refurbishment in 2003 the decor is a mix of olde worlde and modern.
There are comfortable, clean furnishings in pastille shades with large
nooks and crannies to relax and enjoy a good conversation. There
is a lounge bar with an open fire used in the winter months, a separate
restaurant and a public bar. Food is served from a
main menu and can be eaten anywhere in the pub and al fresco during the
summer. Our clientele are very varied and range from the regular
locals to passers by, couples and families. The relaxed atmosphere
here becomes quite lively at the weekend but all are made welcome.
Entertainment includes a quiz night, big screen viewing of that
important match and live music.
We also boast the oldest in-house skittle league
in Britain. If you are close by, drop in and have a bite to eat or
taste a real ale and soak up the atmosphere of this family friendly pub.
