This unique, intriguing and immensely popular pub has been fashioned from a
converted stone-built steading (the Scottish word for stable). Take the
Edinburgh ring road in the direction of the Midlothian Ski Centre, and you
can’t miss us. Steading is actually built into the dry ski slopes, so that the two
big conservatories and the beer garden to the rear of the pub are above
the old building. These command sweeping views across to Edinburgh itself.
From
bacon butty and scone time washed down with a Costa Coffee at 9.30 in the
morning to 9.30 at night, the Steading serves consistently good, value-for-money
food. The drinking area has been religiously preserved for the enjoyment of the best Scottish and English cask ales.
Loads of people, loads of
character.
