Malt Shovel pub EdinburghThe Malt Shovel is ideally located in the centre of Edinburgh between the Royal Mile and the railway station. Built in approximately 1800 this is a listed building with original stained glass in gold and dark green on the doors.  Refurbished in Spring 2007, we have retained our very traditional look with old dark wood, picture frames and posters from years gone by.  There are two fireplaces and swords are hung on the walls.  It is one big room with two walls dividing it into three separate areas.  We have the biggest selection of malt whiskies in the area with 105 available and pride ourselves on serving the best kept real ales. Our clientele range from local regulars and shoppers to tourists to the area who often spend the evening with us.  This is the place to come for a tasty meal to include local delicacies such as haggis.  We hold live entertainment two nights a week so why not call in and enjoy a fun evening next time you are in town!
