Tel. 01225 444437  e-mail  website

Founded in 1997, Abbey Ales is the first brewery in the historic City of Bath for over forty years, and is the initiative of experienced brewery sales and marketing manager Alan Morgan.

Malts and Hops
Abbey Ales Head brewer Martin Langham is known by other micro brewers as a perfectionist and brews using only the finest quality Maris Otter malt, the soul of the beer, and English Challenger, Goldings and Fuggles hops to produce Bellringer.

BELLRINGER  4.2 per cent ABV
Only one cask beer is continuously produced at the Abbey Brewery, a 4.2% abv golden best bitter called Bellringer.

The beer sold out when launched at the Bath CAMRA beer festival in October 1997 and went on to win Beer of the Festival at The Cotswolds CAMRA festival in July 98, The Devizes CAMRA festival in May 99 and The Bath Beer Festival in October 2000. Bath MP Don Foster was so impressed he arranged for it to be sold as a guest beer at The House of Commons.

We also brew Abbey Ale Chorister, Bath Star, Twelfth Night, Black Friar & White Friar.
