The Nelson is located in a shopping centre in Cowley near Oxford.  Our clientele generally come from the nearby estate or drop in whilst shopping for a snack or a relaxing drink.  There is a quiet area during the day where people can eat, talk or just chill out.  This good community bar is trouble free with friendly staff helping to create the sociable atmosphere found here.  The publican, Liz, has been in charge since 1985 and is quite a well known face!  The Nelson is big on Sport and the two big screens and numerous other TVs are positioned to allow matches to be viewed from anywhere in the pub.  For special games such as darts matches an area can be zoned off and the TVs and Juke Box switched off to accommodate the change.  With sports teams, quizzes, bingo and disco there really is something to suit everyone here so come along soon and see what you fancy.
