The unusual name of Jude the Obscure is
from the semi-autobiographical Thomas Hardy novel of the same name and is
so called because he once resided in this area. With a huge
atmosphere and the feel of a traditional town pub, you will be welcomed
by friendly, helpful bar staff who are excellent at their job and really
work to make us the best in the area. You will not be disappointed
by a visit to the Jude, always finding a good drink and company. There is
a super choice of real ales on offer as well as all types of alcoholic and
soft drinks. A high
standard of food can be enjoyed daily from our own menu and specials board
which incorporates mouthwatering homemade favourites. Sunday lunches are extremely
popular and rightly so, when your meal is freshly prepared from quality
ingredients with not a freezer bag in sight! If you have the choice
to enjoy the best
here at an extremely reasonable price, why slave over a hot stove at
home?! It may only be a one roomed pub,
but Jude the Obscure is a place not to be missed.
