OLD ENGLISH INNS

|
|
ABOUT
US |
|
Legend has it that in days
gone by, the original Dog House building was used as the stables and
kennels for the wealthy farming gentry and the Oxfordshire Hunt. Today’s
Dog House is a stunning 20-bedroom inn set in the heart of the country,
with superb food served in our restaurant and conservatory, a
traditional bar and a large garden to relax in. |

The Dog
House, refurbished in 2006, is a very pretty old stone building
with a red tiled roof, formerly stables / kennels to a local manor
house. Set in 4 acres of land, with beautiful picturesque
surroundings, we are situated beside Filford Golf Club, close to Blenheim
Palace and only 10 miles from Oxford. Our comfortable, homely rooms
are a delight to stay in and after a peaceful night you could enjoy a walk
in our private grounds before breakfast. Weekend and corporate
rates are available. Mouthwatering meals are all prepared in-house
from a quality main menu, offering something for everyone.
On Sundays we have a
popular carvery with a choice of three meats. Refurbished in 2006 to
a high standard, it still has an olde English look
but feels a lot brighter, open and airier, with new
soft furnishings. There are two open
fireplaces for a snug feel in the winter months.
Our large grounds have seating areas so you can
enjoy the countryside and a large patio area with
umbrellas and heaters. We would be delighted
to see you at the Dog House and if it's a country
pub you are looking for, we are the ideal choice.
Once you visit us we are sure you will want to come
again. |
