The Navigation Inn is a many roomed 200 year old country inn with real fires,
partially stone flagged floor,
real ale & real food. The pub was once owned by Elsie Tanner of Coronation
Street and a special character of the pub is the array of village and canal memorabilia
which is on display for your to peruse at your leisure. Situated on the
recently re-opened canal basin you can now moor your boat outside the pub and
pop in for a relaxing drink or for a bite to eat. Good home cooking is on
offer with food served all day from either the main menu or a snack menu with
sandwiches, soup etc in the afternoon during the week, so there is always
something available. Because of our location, facilities and reputation we
are a popular choice with walkers. Multi-roomed, the games room is
separate from the bar area and you can enjoy a game of pool or darts or catch up
on some sport on the TVs. We also have comfortable accommodation available
and are an ideal base for those wanting to explore the beautiful surrounding
area. Yearly, a 'well dressing' ceremony dating back to Pagan times takes place here,
where a board is built and decorated for a week
prior to the ceremony with a blessing from the vicar. A warm welcome will
always be given at The Navigation Inn and we look forward to your visit soon.
