Lovingly and extensively restored The Hope and Anchor has a lot to offer.  With a good reputation for food and we are proud that all food served here is freshly prepared using the best seasonal local produce available.  You will be able to taste the difference this makes in whatever you choose from the menu, which has an emphasis on good British cooking.  Chef at the Hope & Anchor was awarded runner-up status in the 'National Meat Federation Steak & Ale Pie Competition', so why not treat yourself to one of his hand prepared pies.  Our refurbished premises are a good stopping off point if you want to just sit down and relax with a drink, choosing from our range of draught beers, a fine wine or a good malt whisky, if that's your tipple.  You can treat yourself to a break in beautiful surroundings, taking advantage of our on site en-suite accommodation which is kept to a high standard and decorated every year to keep the rooms fresh.  The Hope & Anchor is located just three miles southeast of Alnwick (Northumberland), in the charming coastal village of Alnmouth which is an ideal base for sightseeing or just relaxing.  Within easy walking distance of the large golf course which overlooks a long stretch of and beach and the estuary.  The area has lots more to offer with nearby attractions including a mass of historic castles (including Bamburgh & Dunstanburgh), the Farne Islands, Holy Island, walks & picturesque countryside, Alnwick Gardens and of course Alnwick Castle which was made famous in the Harry Potter films.
