pub quizThe Greyhound Inn dates from the 17th century and was originally two cottages.  In the 1830’s it was licensed and the south end (shown below) was extended to cater for workers building the railway in 1908.   John and Hazel Bugg have owned the Greyhound since 1985 and have retained it is a traditional country pub.  The pub has two bars on different levels.  A small dining room leads off from the cosy "top bar" and the larger "bottom bar" has an excellent table skittles table, dart board and shove ha’penny table.  Only friendly competitions are played but we have a lot of fun and run in house "ladders".  The small family room contains an old school desk and we have even retained a traditional off license.  We pride ourselves on our ales and food.  We always have three traditional beers and one traditional cider.  We are a Pub that serves good food - NOT a restaurant that serves beer. We offer fresh fish on Thursdays and Fridays. Sunday lunches are cooked especially for you and are timed to start at 1pm, therefore it is bookings only.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
