The Star Inn is a 14th century inn with lots of character and an L shaped beamed bar. It is reached up some well worn brick steps. There's a
relaxed, chatty atmosphere , a log fire in the inglenook fireplace, paneling . Built in wall settles and window seats and just four or five tables.
There are wooden floors & an oak paneled restaurant. A doorway
leads into a similarly furnished smaller room. The prettily planted sloping
garden with its rustic furniture has views of rolling oak lined sheep pastures -
Turner thought it fine enough to paint. The neighbouring church is rather interesting
with its handsome early English tower. Dogs on leads welcome.
