pub quizThe Plough or Ploo as the locals affectionately know it is a nice wee community type pub situated in the small village of Tarbolton about 8 miles from the coastal town of Ayr. I t is adjacent to the National Trust owned Bachelors Club which is visited by great aficionado’s of Scotland’s National Bard-Robert Burns.  Carol Morrison-Page runs the pub with a warm and welcoming attitude to all and is ably helped by her 2 pups who occasionally wander into the pub from the beer garden to make sure everything is OK.  Live music is a feature every Saturday
night and Big Doog hosts his very own special Karaoke on demand!! Burns Suppers, Day Trips, BBQ’S, Quizzes and much more can be found at The Plough where you will also find a good selection of beer with Tennents Lager proving very popular mainly due to the Landlord’s excellent cellar work (well someone has to say so don’t they?).  So anytime you are passing call in for a pint and we may well have our food operation up and running by then-if not we know of a very good pub / restaurant in the vicinity that will not disappoint!  Visit our delightful beer garden and enjoy a quiet pint in the proverbial sun trap.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
