The Kings Arms is a splendid old white painted inn that dates from 1550 when it was originally built as cottages. Converted into an Inn in 1860, today it is only one of four buildings in the town that still has a thatched roof all the others were destroyed in a great fire in 1786. Very attractive and picturesque from the street, the interior of this delightful old place is just as pretty. The flagstone floors and old ceiling beams have withstood the test of time and, along with the two open fires create a charming and traditional inn atmosphere. Meanwhile to the rear of the building is a lovely beer garden with a heated patio area. A friendly and relaxed inn, which hosts regular live folk music on alternate Tuesday evenings, this is an excellent place to come to for traditional English Inn hospitality. Landlords Mike and Judy Brown have been here since 1998. From the bar there are always three real ales, one of which is a local brew and as well as the usual lagers, beers & spirits, there is a mini wine cellar. A lovely place that offers the very best to both locals and visitors alike.  From J1 on M27 take the A31 and then the A348 to Poole and then the A351 to Wareham. The King's Arms lies in the centre of town.
