General Information

Here’s a rewarding excursion. Take A658 out of Harrogate in the direction of Otley . After three miles take a right hand turn into North Rigton into the large car park of this impressive establishment with its garden. The Square & Compass has been created around the theme of a tour around an English country manor, starting in the kitchen/scullery, proceeding to the drawing room and thence to the library. There are welcoming open fires and reclaimed antique furniture in each one, and you can sit down to eat in any. This is not pub food, but fine dining with imaginative English and Continental style cuisines. For Conference goers who would welcome a change from the Harrogate hotel scene, walkers on the edge of the Dales feeling they deserve a serious treat, or Harrogate citizens seeking somewhere different, the Square & Compass is a real find.
