In the old village centre of
Cramlington, The Plough is a fine and
sympathetic conversion of what used to be Middle Farm buildings into a
traditional pub, including the time-honoured division between bar and lounge.
Amongst the interesting architectural features is a “ging gan”, the circular
building in which a horse would be harnessed to a wheel to grind corn, where you
can now enjoy superb food. Ask about the Cask Ale Club, founded to aid
appreciation of the selection of five real ales, including regularly changes
cask beers. Add a large beer garden to the attractions and you can see why the
Plough appeals to a wide cross-section of people for miles around. Superb beer,
superb food and superb value.
