 The Crown Inn ( a free house) is a 12th century long house with low beams,
slate floors open fires and bags of character! we are directly on the
"saints way"- a walk across Cornwall once undertaken by cattle drovers
from Ireland "fat walking" the cattle form Padstow to Fowey avoiding
sailing around lands end. Then embarking at Fowery to sail to France Etc -
pilgrims joined these drovers and built churches on the route.From Bodmin take the
A30 signposted "Lanhydrock" left at mini
roundabout. After 3 miles turn right onto the A390. Tourists signs show turning
on the right ½ mile country lane into village approx 1 mile. We have a good restaurant serving local produce wherever
possible and fresh fish
is available daily. The Crown Inn is set in unspoilt Cornish countryside but is
close to the coast & is very central for sightseeing. It has a large
car park and pretty gardens with slate tables. We are situated within 6 miles of
the fantastic 'Eden Project'.
