 The
Golden Lion is a
traditional pub located in the heart of York's historic
city. Being only a minutes walk from York Minster,
this venue is in a perfect position. Built in the 15th
Century the pub has a black
frontage and is a Grade ll listed building. Inside there
is a customary feel about the place with open fires and warm
colours. We have a fabulous range of cask
ales and serve good quality, value food and drinks.
Our fabulous location attracts all kinds of
clientele, including shoppers, tourists and
local regulars. Friday and Saturday nights are the
most lively but there is a great crowd throughout
the week. Come down to the Golden Lion, meet
