REFURBISHMENT |
We re-opened following a £125,000 refurbishment in October 2008.
It is of farmhouse style with contemporary touches like the
new fixtures & fittings which complement the decor. The burgundy & cream
wall covering, various lamps & new carpets give it a warm feel. Our
new real ale is also going down very well. Come along & see the
changes for yourself. |

Anchor Inn is an old pub
dating back to the early 1900's in Gargrave. The original pub was part of a farm and in
more recent years has been extended to give extra space. Rumour has it
that the farmer used to brew his own
beer here! We re-opened following a refurbishment in October 2008. It
is of farmhouse style with contemporary touches like the new fixtures &
fittings which complement the decor. The burgundy & cream wall covering &
new carpets give it a warm feel. This
Brewers Fayre is very popular with the youngsters who love the indoor
Playzone and, during the summer, the outdoor play area which is quite large.
Outside the interest continues as there are ducks to feed from the canal
which runs past the bottom of the beer garden and the river is only fifty
yards away. Along with the families we also attract walkers who pop in
for a well earned rest and, of course, our regular local clientele.
The Premier Inn next door is in an ideal place for visitors to the area and
breakfast can be enjoyed in our restaurant. We
serve quality food at a reasonable price all day and our children's menu has
appetizing choices for our younger visitors. We receive regular
feedback complimenting the staff who are all very sociable. This
brings people back to this character filled, rural pub. Come and visit
us soon and enjoy the sociable atmosphere.
About the area:
Nearby Skipton is the 'Gateway' to
the magnificent Yorkshire Dales attracting thousands of visitors from all over the
world. The broad tree-lined High Street leads up to the church, behind which
you see the impressive facade of the 900 year old castle and Skipton
Woods. The High Street is home to numerous shops and the famous market with its many varied and
interesting stalls. Skipton has lots of independent
specialist shops, but also has branches of quality chains and two
department stores. Wander down the many alleyways, or 'ginnels'
as they are known locally, to savour the
town's history and character. Explore the side streets where you will find
individual shops, cafes and restaurants. Visit the canal area with boat
trips, marina, footpaths and picnic areas. Craven Court is an
attractive Victorian style Shopping Centre approached from the High Street
and Otley Street/
