Since Jane & Mac took over the running of the Red Lion they have made and are still making changes. It became the first pub in North Northumberland to become completely non smoking in December 2005. The dining room walls have been taken back to the original stonework and new furnishings and a cosy log burner have been installed. Food is served from a bar menu and evening A la Carte menu. These have quickly become very popular with visitors and locals alike, having built up a good reputation for the food served and bookings are always recommended for the dining room. Another terrific feature is the beer garden and newly decked patio area to the back of the pub which has spectacular views of the estuary - a great choice for al fresco dining or a drink on warmer days. The cosy traditional bar area has an open fire which is very welcoming on cold winter days. We have a choice of up to 3 cask ales and a good selection of draught beers, bottled beers and soft drinks. Much of the accommodation has been refurbished and all have new beds and furnishings, offering a comfortable nights stay. Located in the small seaside town of Alnmouth, the Red Lion Inn has much to offer, including a friendly welcome from a great team of staff. We look forward to your visit soon.
