Unicorn Hotel, Gunthorpe, Nottingham

The Unicorn Hotel is a 17th Century former Coaching House situated on the banks of the River Trent in the village of Gunthorpe.  Several of the regular locals say generations of their families have been drinking here!  It was originally three cottages knocked through into one so it is a long building but still has its interesting nooks and crannies and two fires which makes it cosy.  It is traditionally decorated in terracotta and cream with plenty of pine including wooden beams which run all the way through and the river can be seen from inside the pub.  We often welcome people passing by who have maybe taken a riverside walk. There are many local tourist attractions  such as Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park and Newark so this is an ideal venue to pop in for a meal or drink.  There is also White Post Farm not far from us which is great for our younger visitors or Southwell racecourse for an exciting day out. With so much to see and do you might decide to stay over in one of our en suite rooms to fully enjoy your visit.  Whether you are calling in for a drink, a tasty meal or staying for a short break, the friendly, helpful staff here will give you a fine welcome.
