Ideally located close to Junction 25 of the M1 in an affluent residential
area, The Magpie is an attractive pub
offering very good Sport, food and entertainment facilities. The pub
used to be a house which belonged to a secretary of the Old Home Brewery,
with the car park previously being allotments! There are separate
lounge and bar areas with the bar being more sports orientated having a big
screen, pool table and juke box. This means the lounge, with only the
one TV, can be set aside for a sociable chat. Of course if there is
something going on the two areas integrate really well. Two thirds of
the clientele are regulars covering a broad spectrum of ages. We are a
popular venue for food, which can be eaten anywhere in the pub and when we
finish serving, the locals tend to come in, rounding off the evening with
us. We have darts, pool and skittles teams for the connoisseurs of the
games, a weekly quiz a disco and live vocalists at the weekend. If you are looking for a change in your
social calendar, this is the place for you. See you soon.
