Hutt PhotoThe Hutt is to be found opposite Newstead Abbey and was built in 1400 as part of the Newstead estate, owned by the Byron family from 1540.  It used to be known as the Royal Hutt and King John stayed here when it was first built.  There is a blocked off tunnel, built by the monks, a mile long, which stretches from the Abbey to the pub.  This traditional venue is olde worlde with nooks and crannies and old wooden beams.  Like all Chef & Brewer pubs we employ high quality Chefs who have superb kitchen facilities.  The food can be chosen from a main menu or unique Specials from the chalk boards which allow our Chefs to show their flair!  You will be served meals which have been prepared from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order.  To complement your meal there is an extensive choice of quality wines.  For the real ale connoisseurs we have an impressive selection of real ales to enjoy with friends.  Come and see us soon to enjoy a sociable meal or a drink with family of friends.  You will be given a very warm welcome.
