English Ale Festival

English Ale Festival in celebration of St George.

Come and take part in our new English Ale Festival, running until the 28th May. As well as a number of English cask ales you can request us to source locally brewed beers! In addition to superb beers we have launched a newsletter with lots of helpful information. You can also take part in our collector scheme, whereby if you purchase 9 festival bitters you will be entered into a free prize draw to win a limited edition glass tankard engraved with the Festival logo.

REFURBISHMENT

We re-opened 28th June 2007 following a major refurbishment and change of concept. With our stunning new look, we have a brand new menu offering a range of cooked to order dishes, prepared in-house using fresh seasonal vegetables and locally reared meats. The change is fantastic, why not come along and see for yourself. Sue, Seamus and the friendly team await your welcome.

Hemlock Stone Photo

We are proud to present to you the newly re-developed Hemlock Stone.  Re-opened in June 2007 following a major refurbishment, this is a friendly pub and restaurant situated off a main roundabout in the Wollaton residential area of Nottingham, not far from the City Centre.  Come soon to meet Sue, Seamus and the young, friendly team of staff.  Head Chef Raule Alleyne and his team also await your visit.  The Hemlock Stone has not lost its character, although now has a contemporary style with a twist of flavour and lots of atmosphere.  Décor is pale spring greens, browns and creams, with fantastic light fittings and furniture, nice little booths and a small lounge with leather and suede settees.  You sit in a ‘home from home environment’  whilst enjoying a fabulous coffee and think, read the daily paper, hook up to the internet and surf, or work.  We are passionate about good food, so wherever possible we strive to use only local seasonal fruit and vegetables along with locally reared meat.  Our fabulous new menus offer some amazing food with fantastic dishes created by Glen and the team.  Be tempted by our slow cooked crispy belly pork, and taste the difference in our 14 hour T-Bone steak.  All our desserts are handmade in-house with the most delicious ice cream made on our doorstep at Houghton Park Farm.  ‘Thaymer’ ice cream is a combination of owners names Thelma & Martin Cheetham, who use only natural ingredients and local fruits to produce award winning flavours such as elderflower and gooseberry.  Sunday roast is something not to be missed with a superb array of roasts available all served with traditional accompaniments.   Outside there is a fabulous garden and patio area both of which have been re-developed with seating.  If you are in the area or passing by, you really must come and give us a try.  We await your visit.
