The Broad Oak
has something for everyone and is
popular because of the great atmosphere created here. It is
situated in Strelley, 'the village that time forgot', in the middle of a
conservation area. The whole village is listed with buildings dating
back to the 1600's. The Broad Oak itself dates back to around 1650
and has retained its original features with low ceilings and
beams. Because of it's rural location walking is popular in the
area and ramblers are welcome to leave their cars in our car park and pop in
for a bite to eat afterwards. We are an attractive venue for excellent
pub food which is on offer daily from a main menu as well as a Specials board which contains homemade dishes such as our mouthwatering
chicken pies and braised steaks. Food is also served from value
for money and senior citizen menus at selected times, which offer
smaller portions at lower prices. Not to be missed is our
succulent traditional homemade Sunday lunch which is served until the meat runs out,
normally around
3pm. A table can be reserved for your meal and because of our
popularity, it is recommended that you book. You can choose to eat in
our restaurant or in the bar area and during the summer months our
massive garden provides plenty of seating, so you can enjoy the sunshine and
the children can feel free to amuse themselves in our outdoor play
area. Buffets are available for christenings, funerals, corporate
meetings, etc, with all enquiries welcomed. There are excellent
facilities here including disabled access, baby changing area and an extensive car park.
We
hold a weekly quiz, as well as a twice weekly 'sticky 13's' which is a
card based bingo game, everyone is invited to join in. With a good
mixture of all age groups, this is a unique pub for the area with quality food, drink and
friendly helpful staff. The
Broad Oak is definitely well worth a visit.
